This paper gathers together the best possible data looking at WASH in Schools (WinS) coverage and also examines WinS indicators that are currently used in national Education Management Information System (EMIS). The data review found that both water and sanitation coverage has increased by 6 percentage points between 2008 and 2013; while Least Developed Countries (LDCs) showed a more increase with nine percentage points in the same timeframe. It also identified that handwashing facility coverage data is rarely reported. The report is broken down into global WinS coverage and monitoring WinS through national EMIS.
