Hygiene Education in Water Supply and Sanitation Programmes is a literature review with annotated bibliography that provides an overview of the current knowledge and experience in hygiene programmes. It acknowledges that improvements in health from water supply and sanitation facilities can only happen when they’re accompanied by improved hygiene practices and so fresh attention is being focused on changing habits and behaviour surrounding this issue. It calls for more effort to set realistic hygiene education objectives along with the necessary funds, time and manpower plus regular monitoring and evaluation initiatives.
